Jeanne Foster is a North Carolina attorney from the Kansas City area who has been in private practice primarily in the area of family law. She has experience in child custody and paternity issues, parenting plans and minor guardianships. Jeanne practiced family law because she believes family is the most important relationship. Jeanne now focuses on estate planning and general practice in North Carolina.
She practiced in public service with the Missouri Department of Social Services Litigation Section and with the Missouri Department of Revenue in the area of business taxes and administrative law. Jeanne served on active duty with the U.S. Army in the JAG Corps and with the Reserves in Kansas. She advised commanders, prosecuted felony courts martial cases, and investigated and adjudicated injury and property claims as Claims Officer, She also drafted wills and powers of attorney for deploying soldiers, their families and retirees. She taught Geneva/Hague Conventions and criminal law classes.
Jeanne did her coursework at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, earning a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Juris Doctorate, Law, in 1979. Jeanne is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, former member of the Association of Women Lawyers, Reserve Officer Association and Military Order of the World Wars. She served as an election official and election judge in Johnson County, Kansas, and has served extensively in volunteer organizations benefiting the community.
